Shortly after the semester ends and grades are posted, the Director of Systems Engineering Programs sends a list of individuals that have achieved INCOSE Equivalence to INCOSE. The students on this list do not need to take the INCOSE Knowledge Exam to become an ASEP or CSEP. INCOSE's rules are fairly strict on the names that can be included on this equivalancy list. Below are the following requirements that students must follow to be on the U's INCOSE Equivalency list.
The University of Utah's Requirements
A student must earn a B+ or better in Fundamentals of Systems Engineering. Due to cross listing, graduate and undergraduate credit, there are four classes that satisfy this requirement (SIME 5400, SIME 6400, ME EN 5160 and ME EN 6160).
A student must earn a B+ or better in Systems Engineering and Integration. Due to cross listing, graduate and undergraduate credit, there are four classes that satisfy this requirement (SIME 5410, SIME 6410, ME EN 5170 and ME EN 6170).
A student must fill out the following departmental form during the semester that the student is taking the last of the above two classes. This must be done after the first day of classes and should be done prior to finals week. The grades in the last class will be verified by the Director of Systems Engineering Programs prior to a name being included in the equivalency list of names.
