Upon successful completion of this course, students shall be able to:
- Identify and describe key personality types and their impact on workplace relationships.
 - Analyze their own personality style using The People Code framework and apply insights to improve collaboration.
 - Explain the components of emotional intelligence and assess their own strengths and areas for growth.
 - Apply emotional intelligence skills to navigate workplace challenges and interpersonal dynamics.
 - Evaluate motivation theories, including intrinsic and extrinsic motivators, and design strategies to inspire individuals and teams.
 - Diagnose common team dysfunctions and recommend strategies for building high-performing teams.
 - Demonstrate techniques for effective collaboration in multicultural and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
 - Prepare and deliver professional presentations tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.

Course Description
This course teaches the leadership, management, and interpersonal skills essential for success in today’s technical and collaborative engineering work environments. Through an exploration of strategic planning, personality types, emotional intelligence, motivation theory, teamwork dynamics, implicit biases, hiring and promotions, students will learn how to effectively lead engineering teams. Drawing on influential leadership literature, students will gain theory, tools and techniques to become impactful leaders. Class sessions will combine lectures, discussions, presentations, interactive activities, and real-world examples to prepare students to excel in multidisciplinary teams and dynamic organizations.
