In May of 2025, the Graduate Certificate of Engineering Management (GCEM) passed the last approval process and will eventually be awarded at the U. The U works on academic years. It is unknown whether or not the U can award a GCEM at the end of Fall 2025, Spring 2025, or Summer 2026. GCEMs will for sure be awarded starting in Fall 2026. Students knowing that they will be enrolled in Fall 2026, may pursue a GCEM. Students graduating before Fall 2026 may pursue the GCEM, but it may or may not be awarded.

Admission Requirements:

Be admitted to the U’s Graduate School. A student can be admitted as a degree seeking student (admitted to a particular masters or Ph.D. program). A student can be admitted as a nonmatriculated student. See the Apply Now for requirements and admission policies. Note: You must be admitted to either the on-campus or the online campus.

An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and a STEM discipline
Two semesters of calculus
One semester of a probability and/or statistics course

or

Two semesters of calculus with a B or better
One semester of a probability and/or statistics course with a B or better
An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and relevant work experience as approved by the Director of the Engineering Management Programs

Requirements for Awarding GCEM
In the semester that you wish to be awarded the GCEM fill out the following form. This form must be filled out at least a week before finals week.

Earn a grad of B or better in all courses used for the GCEM. This will be checked by the Director of Engineering Management Programs after grades are posted in the awarding semester.
